This is one of the last pieces made by Joseph Morel, Founder and Master Art Glass artist extraordinaire of Zellique Studios. I was quite fortunate to have purchased a small number of his wonderful paperweights some years ago. Now that he has retired, these pieces have been even more in demand than when I purchased them, and I would expect the demand to continue to increase. This paperweight has a round shape and a flat bottom as well. It is approximately 3 1/4" in diameter and 3 1/4" tall. It has bright red cherries on a brown branch with green leaves. The background is light tan with sparkle iridescence and white speckles. The paperweight is signed "Zellique Studio JM 2004 CHPWTW02." It is furnished with a studio booklet and original Zellique box. Joseph Morel's impeccable attention to detail is represented in the finest galleries, museums and private collections throughout the world. Each piece of his glass art is signed, registered and dated by the artist. An enclosure brochure describing the process of glassblowing and the artist was included with each piece of art glass. This is a rare opportunity to purchase an outstanding example of this master's work in Pristine Condition at a price that is probably much lower than it will be in years to come.
