This is such a wonderful painting. It evokes an emotional response in the viewer. I can feel the breezes, and smell the ocean. It is both relaxing yet poignant. This is an evocative evening scene with boats by a sandy beach. In the foreground an impressive sailing boat is floating on the water near a wooden jetty with a small house. In the background a three-master rises above the horizon against the background of a cloudy sky. To the right the setting sun casts a beautiful light on the sky and the surface of the sea. The painting is signed illegibly and the artist is unknown.

Age - The painting is from approximately 1900.

Medium - The painting is a genuine oil painting on wooden board.

Size without frame: The picture is 33 cm / 13 inches high and 50 cm / 20 inches wide. The frame itself is 7 cm / 3 inches wide.

Condition: The painting is in good condition with abrasions and surface grime.

The frame is a beautifully gilt, wooden frame in a good state with some scratches and chips.
