This is another of Cybis Porcelain's North American Indian Collection. The devotion to authentic details is so evident in this series. Hiawatha is pictured in most of Cybis books, usually in a full page. It was issued in a limited edition of only 350 in the United States and 150 internationally. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote: :From the sky the sun benignant Looked upon them through the branches Saying to them 'O my children Love is sunshine, hate is shadow, Life is checkered shade and sunshine, Rule by Love, O Hiawatha!' " Hiawatha is depicted here as having hunted a deer to feed his tribe. This sculpture is in Excellent Condition. It is listed in the Cybis Porcelain Price Guide (by Carol Marren. August, 2003) at $3750.00.
