Rare Antique Hand Colored Dog Study, by Lizars, c 1820

One occasionally sees a number of Lizars bird and wild animal prints, but I've never seen dog studies before. This is one of three absolutely fantastic hand-colored dog studies that I purchased at an estate auction. This is called "The Springer" but its title refers to the dog's activity level; probably not the breed! This is a rare find that is fabulous for anyone who treasures antique art. Especially exciting for dog lovers like me. The study itself is 6" X 4": It has been beautifully Custom matted and framed in a frame within a frame. Framed it is 15" x 14". The study is in Very Good Original As Found Condition. The frames are in Excellent Condition.
