This superb lidded silver box comes from the collection of a Shan princess and portrays a beautiful young stag. The graceful animal is sitting on the ground and has its head with the mighty antlers proudly elevated. The artwork showcases neatly incised chase work featuring a beautiful decor incorporating swirls and geometrical ornaments. The inlaid ruby eyes lend this fantastic figural silver box a vivid appearance. COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Thailand. DATE: 1920s. MARKS: Marked "925" and with an illegible hallmark on the underside. MATERIAL: Silver & rubies. MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUE: Casting & very fine chase work. CONDITION: Very Good ORIGINAL as found condition with minor dents & nicks. Box closes hermetically. NO RESTORATION!
