I am very proud to present this huge incredible piece. It is one of the most sought after and finest porcelain Cybis has ever produced. It was released in a small edition of only 100. This piece is Number 5, making it an Artist's Proof. It is in Excellent Condition. I have the original color small pamphlet describing The Bride, when it was released, and I will quote: "THE BRIDE from an original painting by Boleslaw Cybis, 1937. A virtuoso porcelain even surpassing all other Cybis artistic achievements. Even the famed Saxony craftsmen found re-firing for color too demanding for objects of this large scale. The delicately detailed lace, bodice embroidery and skirt panels are so authentic that one's fingers instinctively reach out. This Cybis porcelain with dowry chest of Krakow motif, Pope John Paul II's native area, was presented by Iowa's Governor Robert Ray to his Holiness during his recent visit to the United States. Commemorative Issue 18 inches tall by 11 inches wide by 13 inches deep. An issue restricted to 100. $6,500.00" Carol Marren's Cybis Porcelain Price Guide of August 2003 lists the 2003 value as $9,750.00. Due to the rarity and demand for this piece world-wide, I would expect it to continue to appreciate in value. We are checking on current value, but because of her rarity on the secondary market, one cannot find comparables. We have some input from several high end auction house appraisers who are estimating in the $12,000 to $15,000 range.
