This is a delightful little statuette of an early Victorian period boy seated on the floor and playing with some soldiers. He pretends himself to be a soldier and has a little toy drum, and wears shoulder decorations taken from a soldier's uniform.
This cast metal statuette with gold patina is unsigned; executed by an unknown European artist.
The work is 18 cm /7 inches high and 20 cm / 8 inches wide.
The work is in fairly good condition. The patina is worn off in several places. There is a hole drilled in the back of the figures head. Presumably he was once wearing an officer's hat or something similar.
The painting was authenticated by art expert Mesa Bajric.
