This is one of the four shelf ornaments introduced in 1963, all of which had very limited production. The Himalayan is of Mongolian ancestry, and is depicted wearing the lambskin cap to ward off the cold mountain air. The Himalayan Mountains form a great natural barrier between India and the large plateau of Tibet, and include the highest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. Many nations lie within the Himalayan Range, including Nepal, Kashmir, Mustang, Sikkim, and Bhutan.
This is 6 inches tall, and is in Very Good Condition with no losses. It is pictured and referenced in The Imagical World of Bossons by Robert E. Davis on Pages 54, 56, 62, 130, and on many other pages referencing wall hanging of the Himalayan, which is more frequently seen than this much rarer piece.
