Here we offer a full-length depiction of a young forest worker cutting down the tree. He has cut out a large piece of the trunk, but seems to have paused to for a while, standing with the axe in his hand. Behind him his obedient dog is seated next to the water jug, patiently waiting for his master.
The painting is signed "G. H. Jupp" lower left for the British artist George Herbert Jupp (1869-?).
It is an Original Oil painting on Board. The painting itself is 59 cm / 23.5 inches high and 38 cm / 15.5 inches wide.
The frame is 6 cm / 2.5 inches wide.
The painting is in a good condition with some surface grime and scratches. The frame is a beautiful, wooden frame in a good state with minor chips and scratches.
