This is a Painting by the Famous Artist, Al Resnick (1924-2005) from Miami Beach, Florida's Glamorous South Beach. Al Resnick was known for depicting contemporary figures from his own life. He was a gifted master of portraits, clearly Influenced by the historic building in which he resided, and the famous people with whom he associated. Mr. Resnick Was the longest resident of the famed Versace Mansion before its namesake purchased the property in 1992 when it was still named "The Amsterdam Palace". The steps of this mansion were made forever famous on July 15th 1997, when fashion superstar Gianni Versace was murdered. Many of Resnick's pieces are depictions of residents come and gone from the Amsterdam Palace, including befriended Fashion Models, Designers and Handsome Lovers. Resnick not only chose to paint whatever subjects he had at hand, but as a prolific painter he would paint on just about anything he had at hand. Many of his works are on wood cabinets, bits of furniture and other objects. Al Resnick Was the youngest of 3 sons born to Polish immigrants, Abe & Gussie, and was born in Brooklyn, New York. After a stint in the Army during WWII Resnick worked for many years as an artist for the New York Fashion Houses. You may remmber his trademark models with a beauty mark under the right eye, which became common in the pages of The New York Times. Resnick finished his working career as Art Director for the Former Department Store Powerhouse Kmart before retiring to Florida to Care for his Aging Parents. Signed: AR (Al Resnick). The Date in Roman Numerals is MCMLXXXV (1985). It is oil on cardboard, and measures 10-5/8" Tall and 8-3/4" Wide. It is in Good to Very Good Condition.
