This is one of only 4 free standing shelf ornaments ever produced by Bossons, and it was in limited production from 1963 to 1966 only. I find the Sikhs quite interesting in their own right. While they were at first a religious sect, they became more of a brotherhood. Almost all Sikhs flourish the beard and turban. They live by the "5 K's" - They are Kesha, the long hair wrapped in a turban. Kangha, the wooden or ivory comb. Kachha, the military knee britches. Kara - a steel bracelet. and Kirpan, a sword. The Sikhs are famous for their military prowess, demonstrating fierce valor in Indian history, outstanding in the British-trained Indian Army. Refer to "The Imagical World of Bossons" by Robert E. Davis, Pages 54, 56, 62, 74 and 130. This piece is in Excellent Condition, with the original tag still attached. (Unusual for Bossons to be found in such great condition. Naturally, the better the condition, the more they are worth!) I think Bossons should be appealing to those who want to collect something interesting and still reasonable enough to be affordable.
