Never the ordinary...unique items chosen over the last 50 years of travel around the world.
There was only one Borsato, and this is yet another piece demonstrating his genius. This sculpture has the hunter barefoot, carrying his shoes. Perhaps they were wet from traipsing in boggy fields after his game! Unlike most Borsatos on the market, this is in Excellent Condition, with even the rifle strap still attached. (Usually the little "extras" such as straps, reins, etc are missing; and usually there is some damage that sellers refer to as "minor" that significantly lowers value.) Antonio Borsato died in an automobile accident at the height of his career in 1982. Being a perfectionist, he was not very prolific. Each piece had a special touch; a turn of the head, an expression. He is arguably the finest Italian porcelain sculptor of the 20th Century. This piece measures 6 and 3/4 inches by 9 inches.
