Never the ordinary...unique items chosen over the last 50 years of travel around the world.
I have always loved to set a beautiful table. (Maybe I had to make up for not quite gourmet cooking skills!) Seriously, the mixing in of some phenomenal serving pieces, but from different patterns than the plates, is a very classy and personal touch. This particular piece is even more beautiful in hand than on pictures. It can be either an oval tureen or covered vegetable dish made by Theodore Haviland Limoges. This elegant beauty features sprays of muted colored flowers with small branches of green leaves. It is accented by brushed gold spots on the borders. It has lovely stylized center and side handles in the shape of golden ribbons. This can be proudly displayed for those who choose not to use it, since it is a piece that should be handed down to future generations. This is in Very Good to Excellent Condition. Overall wear to paint and gilt; wear to bottom. (Reference: Limoges Porcelain Third Edition by Mary Frank Gaston.) It is 12 inches in length; 7.5 inches width; and about 4.5 inches in height.
