Huge Antique Cameo - Hebe Feeding Zeus' Eagle

This exquisite carved cameo is in relief in a delicate off-white tone on a cafe au lait colored background. Thanks to a very nice browser, this fascinating scene from mythology has been properly identified. The cameo is huge; over 2 full inches long and 1 and 3/4 inches wide. The bezel is a lovely gold ribbon and rope designs, and brings the height to 2 and 1/4 inches and the width to nearly 2 inches. The cameo is in Very Good to Excellent Condition, except for a line that is barely visible except on very close inspection in the upper quadrant. I believe it might be an imperfection in the stone used because you cannot feel it at all. The bezel is in very good condition, especially considering its age. It has the old style of closure, with an attached pin as your security feature. I never wore this; simply would take it out and handle it and feel a great deal of pride of ownership.
