Fascinating Vintage Cybis Windflower (with Ladybug), c 1966

In the Cybis book, this lovely piece is pictured with the following written: Windflower "Long ago one of the Gods, following the chase, saw and fell in love with a beautiful lady. But she dreamed only of her True-Love who had ridden away to go round the world with the East Wind, promising - 'With the West Wind I will come back to you.' The beautiful lady turned her face away from the God, while her little dog barked and snapped at him. So the God turned her into a Windflower, where she still bends after the West Wind, watching and waiting for her True-Love's return. Her little dog he turned into a ladybug, and you may still see him there on an adjacent leaf." I find that a charming story, although my grammar might have been a bit better than Cybis, but they draw on the right side of the brain, after all..... (little grin!) This is in Excellent Condition. It is over 8 inches tall, and about 6 inches across at the base. Current value is listed as $650 in the Cybis Porcelain Price Guide of August, 2003, by C. Marren. We are listing it at a substantial discount.
