Exquisitely Carved Magnificent Ivory Bouquet and Vase, Chinese

Incredibly beautiful large bouquet of ivory peony and chrysanthemum blossoms in an ivory base. The Archaic style vase with ring handles is pierced in a diaper pattern. The height is 22"; flowers across measure 16" at the widest. This was appraised after we purchased it in 1986 (by Ida Manheim, of Manheim Galleries) at $8500.00. The piece was either put together originally with a spill of the glue or whatever was used, or perhaps later in its life, before we purchased it. We have photographed that juncture closely. It is not visible from the front. I am told that the value has more than tripled since the appraisal.
