What a great rendition by William K. Harper for Royal Doulton. The quiet strength and character are wonderful! And I love the cleft chin. The handle of the mug is his pair of binoculars. This was released in 1991, and the edition closed in 1996. It is from The Armed Forces series. He is in Excellent Condition. He stands 4 and 1/4 inches tall. Royal Doulton Number D6875. The Charlton Standard Catalogue 9th Edition lists him at $150.00, but it is my understanding his price has gone up since then.

I I love well-carved hardstone pieces. This Chinese very elaborately openwork carved, "Honan jade" urn and cover is simply spectacular. It has pheasants and other birds perched among the branches of a large pine, a deer at the foot of the tree. It is difficult to show how massive this piece really is! The top (cover) of the urn has large spreading foliage and birds. I've tried to show how many birds there are. This is in Excellent Condition, and stands 15 inches tall.
