Incredibly beautiful large bouquet of ivory peony and chrysanthemum blossoms in an ivory base. The Archaic style vase with ring handles is pierced in a diaper pattern. The height is 22"; flowers across measure 16" at the widest. This was appraised after we purchased it in 1986 (by Ida Manheim, of Manheim Galleries) at $8500.00. Please look at the pictures carefully. This extremely well carved and detailed, fossil mammoth ivory figure shows a lone rhino against rockery, gazing at a full moon behind swirling clouds.
