This is part of a pair...please see Item 180 for details. I have always so enjoyed the expressions on these figures. There is paint loss, and I believe there might have originally been an extension of the brush coming from his hand (I believe a small piece representing the top of the brush had been broken at some point before I purchased it. The figure is attached to the base, which is attractively decorated. This is an outstanding piece for the discriminating collector.

This unusual subject matter fascinates me. It is a seated man, possibly a Buddha, smiling, with his hands tied behind his back and two rats climbing on him, one in front and one in back. I wonder if there is some folklore about the rats freeing him? He is 1 and 1/2 inches high, and is signed of the base. He is in Very Good to Excellent Condition with no losses.
