I have not had a chance to research this artist. "Leroy.Imp.a Paris" is written quite small under the painting. Then "La Mode Illustree" followed by Bureau du Journal, 56 rue Jacob Paris". This is very hard to photograph, but an extremely desirable acquisition. It is decorated with fighting gamecocks framed within draped fabric. It is inscribed, A Baldwin, dated August 19th, 1824, Eng. The reverse carved with oval wreath encircling Samuel Hare, Old Town, Ohio. It is 7 1/4 inches long. It has several chips, and less than the expected wear for something more than 180 years old! A remnant of the cork stopper remains.
