Outstanding Late 1800’s Antique Hand Painted Jean Pouyat Limoges Plate with Roses – Artist Signed “Leona”. WOW! What a beautiful artist rendering of roses ! The details are incredible and indicate it was hand painted by a very talented artist. My research indicates that signed pieces with this mark would have been early in the factory’s history in the late 1800’s (hand painted by individual artist in early years). It is marked with the Jean Pouyat (1890 to 1932). The mark is listed as mark 5 in the Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges” – Third Edition by Mary Frank Gaston on page 238. Measures approximately 6 3/8” in diameter. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. It looks like it was never used! Please see my other listings for matching pieces.
