The border, with a generous ˝” band of gold outlined in black, has black floral designs traced all around. Leaves – from the main drawing – overlap a portion of the border.
This beautiful Lanternier plate is in excellent condition with no chips, nicks, cracks, or repairs. The gilding shows very little wear.
The artist, ‘Ritt’, has signed the face of the plate. The underside sports a ‘Limoges, France’, Mark 6 (used after 1891), along with an ‘A. Lanternier & Co., Limoges’, Mark 1, which was used circa 1890’s. There is a very similar plate in Mary Frank Gaston's 'Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain', 3rd edition (page 225), with a suggested retail price of $175-$200.
Dimensions: 8.75” in diameter.
