This magnificent Vintage Mexican Belt Buckle is the achievement of an extremely talented artist! Brilliant with diamond cuts and Ancient Mayan Symbolism and represents the ultimate in silversmithing. The buckle weighs 2.3 oz. This buckle features a Mayan circular form in the center and geometric forms expertly chiseled diamond cut to catch the light and reflect. The very fine detail work on the overlay is incredible featuring the finest point tapping work on the bottom and sides of these geometric forms. Each pin-point is singularly applied by hand.

The backing sheet of silver is purposely oxidized to better show the design on the top sheet. The buckle is finished top and bottom with silver strength framing, an unusual concept. The belt hole peg is on a swivel post to keep the buckle close to the body. This is a deluxe feature as most buckles have the peg soldered to the back of the buckle itself and that causes a gap between the buckle and the belt. The epitome of talent and patience of the Artist!

Mark/Signature: Inside a triangular form the following: PLATA DE JALISCO 925 V.H.L.C. GUAD. MEX. In addition to these marks there is an early Eagle Stamp 50. Translation: Silver of state of Jalisco - 925 sterling- of the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. The initial V.H.L.C. stands for either the Artist, Shop or both. Age: 1950-1960’s - Measurements: 2” W x 3 1/4” L
