SOLD Rare 1920's Vintage Terrier Dog Purse Carnival Glass Beads Design on Both Sides

This Fabulously Beautiful Vintage Beaded Purse shows an unique design on both sides and is in Most Excellent Condition, with each original bead in tact, showing original vibrant colors such as the day it was made!

Are going to the next Westminister Dog Show? Just imagine this purse on your wrist!

The Dog featured I believe is a Terrier similar to Asta who stared in "The Thin Man, with David Niven and Myrna Loy. One side shows the dog with a vibrant pink bow and the other side shows her with an orange bow. The dog is on a background of shimmering white beads, framed with copper, bronze, gold and green metallic colored glass beads.

A perfectly worked checker-board pattern of cobalt blue, purples and blue tone beads and white beads create the background for a woman's Best Friend.

At the top, above the dog is a beaded monogram which reads "M.L." on a background of white beads. The other side shows the same monogram on an orange color beaded background, which matches the color of the dog's bow.

Please notice the extra care and time dedicated to the side edging which is done in a stylized figure- 8 beaded border, which adds additional strength to the purse.

The fringe measures 2" long, with (2) rows of blues, greens and purples, with a center band of white hued beads. The fringe is in Mint Condition.

The handle is also beaded on both sides and features a snap closure which is in perfect working condition that snaps tightly closed.

The purse is entirely lined , including the handle in an ecru or ivory color fabric, which has a pretty sheen & is also in Excellent Condition with the exception of two small brown stains. (please see the photographs).

Age: 1920’s.

Condition: Most Excellent to Near Mint.

The colors sprinkled throughout give this special purse just the right amount of interest & sparkle.

The Purse measures 13 1/2" from the top of the handle to the bottom of the fringes. The body of the purse measures 9 1/2" Tall x 5 1/2" wide (which includes the fringe). The fringe extends beyond the width of the purse at 6 1/2" wide.
