An Eccletic Array of Vintage & Antique Costume Estate Native American & Mexican Jewelry + Accessories & Collectibles
- Cut Steel Jewelry was extremely popular during the Mid-Victorian Era - 1850's to the late Victorian Era. Cut steel jewelry was some of the most intricate jewelry and accessories made, created to imitate the sparkle of diamonds. Made from riveted, faceted steel beads, these beads each have 12 cut facets. Some cut steel beads have only 5 facets, indicating a poorer quality and less sparkle. The majority of these early cut steel pieces were made in France and later towards the end of the 1800's were manufactured in England.
This cut steel belt buckle sparkles like the stars in the late night sky and measures: 4 1/4” L x 1 3/4” W.
The multiple & precise faceting of the cut steel stones combined with the open work, allows this piece to sparkle and shine – in a three-dimensional array of Beauty! You can put this fabulous belt buckle on any of your favorite belts or slide through some black velvet or any color and wear it as a choker. It does have a bit of flexibility and will contour to the shape of your neck beautifully.
