20% off Sale - I know in it’s time (60- 70 yrs. ago) this necklace was walked down a runway and is still going strong! This fantastic delightfully fresh vintage Bakelite Bib Style Necklace features marbleized maraschino red cherries on round, scalloped edged plaques (dishes) and measures 17 1/2”, with a brass spring ring clasp.

Featuring 10 carved & stemmed Bakelite red cherries which measure 1/2” x 1/2” on round, red, Bakelite scallop edged plaques/dishes which measure 1 1/4 x 1 1/4”.

The dish settings are attached to one another by patterned 1/2” oval brass loops which measure between 1/16” – 1/8” thick. The neck chain is created with 1/2” long smooth oval brass loops with inside patterned decorations. * * It is interesting to note that the brass loops connecting the dishes together is the exact reverse of the neck chain, with the patterned design on the outside to give a light-catching reflection, adding to the beautiful style of this piece.

This is a formidable design as the plaques/dishes are a full 3/16” thick and the cherries sit 1/2” high above the plaques & are attached with metal pins/rivets. The rivets of course are not visible from the front. This exhibits high quality design & craftsmanship, with excellent attention to detail.

Condition: Excellent but for normal vintage wear on the cherry stems but this is hardly visible. From the many bakelite pieces I have seen featuring stems, the fine condition of this necklace is far above the majority.

This is an authentic vintage double tested Bakelite Necklace and I guarantee it to be Bakelite in Excellent Condition.
