Vintage Native American Large CONCHA BELT Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Cast Sterling Silver Signed Navajo

This fantastic Native American Navajo Concho Belt with turquoise and sterling silver features 9 large oval sterling cast conches with matching peg-style buckle. The conches measure: 3 5/8” L x 3” W, each set with a 9mm x 11mm sleeping beauty oval turquoise cabochon, centered in serrated bezels on all 10 conches.

The conches are cast with a central diamond design in relief with the design carried out to the borders, which are finely stamped with a shell pattern and stylized ray design on the outer edge. Weighs almost 2 lbs.

The conches are secured to a 1 1/4” wide black leather strap by double copper bands which are soldered to the back of the conches. The belt is 44” long and the strap can be changed out if you need a larger size. If the belt is too large it can be cut down for a custom fit.

The buckle is marked STERLING underneath the signature - NNB. Excellent condition and well preserved. Vintage 1970’s.

This is truly an amazing work of wearable art showcasing Native American Craftsmanship. We do not polish our sterling silver jewelry but leave that up to the buyer whether or not to preserve the patina. The oval plaques however will take a high polish if desired.
