We have put many items on sale for Christmas--check us out!
Condition is very good. The brass has a nice patina with no tarnish or corrosion. The inkwell is in excellent condition with no nicks, scratches or flea bites. The hinge is in good shape, but the lid doesnt quite sit tightly on the inkwell. Measurements are 6 to the top of the chair, 2 1/2" wide and 3 deep. The inkwell itself measures just under 2 square and 2 3/8 high to the top of the lid. On the base, where the plate that holds the inkwell is connected to the chair is a section of solder that is probably more recent than the time of manufacture.
We believe this was probably made in the early 1900s. It is a fun and unusual inkwell that deserves a place in your inkwell collection or on your late Victorian desk.
