We have put many items on sale for Christmas--check us out!
The charger features cobalt blue, pale blue, rust red and pale green, with gold accents. The pattern is divided into six fans, with a circle in the middle that presents three peonies and foliage. Three of the fans have the same design against a cobalt background, possibly of a fruit (pomegranate?). The other three fans with white background have various flowers and flowering trees. Four blue designs are painted around the outside, while a Scholars scroll is painted on the base. It is porcelain, and has a beautiful ring when gently tapped with a fingernail. It measures 15 3/4" in diameter and 1 5/8 high. It is also very heavy at almost 6 lbs.
This piece dates sometime between 1850 and 1920 we have so far not been able to pin the age down more precisely, although will keep researching. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.
This is a gorgeous example of Japanese Imari that deserves to be proudly displayed.
This charger will be packaged in an oversized box. Parcel post is a less expensive option.
