From Aoki Shokai of Japan, here is marvelous circus clown windup, mint in box. We would suspect this toy dates from the late ‘60s, or sometime into the ‘70s. Possibly a little later based on the lithography and box. We couldn’t find any details on this Japanese toy company, other than their trademark.

Wind the toy up and it races along the floor. It then does a couple of flips and races along some more. Notice the clown’s flat head. Must have gotten that from doing lots of flips!

Both the toy and box are mint. We tried it out to make sure it works and took some pictures. Then back into the box for you.
