SALE Porcelain elephant creamer – Nippon Made in Japan

What a charming fellow this is, as he sits with his mouth and eyes wide open, hoping to pour cream into someone’s coffee.

This figural creamer is glazed with a soft satiny glaze – not matte, but definitely not glossy either. Details are painted on by hand. He is in perfect condition, without chips or cracks and only very slight paint loss on one ear.

The mark is one we have not yet been able to identify. It does say Nippon, which was generally not used after 1928; however we believe this little guy was made later – possibly in the late 1940s or even 50s. We are, however, uncertain of his exact age.

He’s a real little charmer, and would love to be part of an elephant, creamer or Made in Japan collection.
