This beautiful and imposing Imari charger is begging to be displayed, possibly on a mantel or on its own shelf in a display cabinet. With its beautiful traditional Imari colors and floral designs, and almost 16" diameter, it demands attention. The charger features cobalt blue, pale blue, rust red and pale green, with gold accents. What a charming fellow this is, as he sits with his mouth and eyes wide open, hoping to pour cream into someone’s coffee. This figural creamer is glazed with a soft satiny glaze – not matte, but definitely not glossy either. Details are painted on by hand. He is in perfect condition, without chips or cracks and only very slight paint loss on one ear. The mark is one we have not yet been able to identify.
