Victorian Mourning Brooch of 10K YG and Black Enamel with Braided Hair

This Victorian Mourning Brooch is 10K YG (there is no mark, but it tests 10K with a G-24 Gold Tester) with black glass enamel. It has a heavy dark brown braid of hair under beveled glass. It is 2" x 11/2" and weighs 0.8 oz. The pin shank extends out past the edge of the pin which often indicates a piece that is pre-1850. This piece is very dimensional as the gold scrollwork surrounding the black enamel stands up 1/8". The enamel is very heavy and perfect. The beveled glass is tight in the bezel setting and not excessively scratched. There is a 1/4" very shallow ding on the back and two tiny pin point dimples. For a piece that is probably almost 200 years old it is in very good condition.
