Antique EDWARDIAN 1Carat Green Tourmaline 14K Gold Pin With Original Casket Box. The Casket is as intriguing as the shield cut green tourmaline gemstone.
The rich blue velvet box truly resembles a casket - thus the name. Stick pins, Jabot pins were worn by men and women during the Edwardian period from 1901 -1910 and extended by some historians to the end of WW I in 1918. The pin is marked 14K and the tourmaline shield cut gemstone is almost a peridot green color, and a little over 1 Carat - Hand craftsman faceted with excellent symmetry and clarity.
The hinged hard case casket is 3 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide covered in a rich deep blue velvet and lined in white satin with a white velvet pillow and envelop for the stick. The casket opens with a tiny Mother of Pearl push spring button. The gold leaf embossing reads "Hibbard Jewelry Co, No.16 South Howard, Akron - Ohio". The condition of the little casket is remarkable and if you're a collector, you know these are very hard to find.
