Wonderful Vintage Matson Jewelry Casket With Floral Ormolu Frame

While unmarked, I have no doubt that this a wonderful Matson jewelry casket. It has the exact pattern and style of similar marked pieces.

These pieces were manufactured by the Matson Manufacturing Company, NYC, NY, during the 1950's and 60's. The earlier pieces tend to have the buff interior, while the later pieces have the red interior.

This rectangle piece measures 5-1/2" wide x 4-1/2" across x 4" tall, and has a beveled glass top and four (4) beveled glass sides. The glass is dog tooth set with no missing pieces.

The interior padding is done in a soft buff colored cotton velvet, and matched on the under side.

All of the Rococo style ormolu framing, including the four legs, are done in a very ornate floral open gold tone filigree.

This beautiful casket is in excellent and clean condition, and will be the perfect touch on a vanity, or lamp table to feature that special treasure!
