VERY NICE!!! I think this is an old rolled gold piece.. It is marked Ketcham & McDougall..Pat.Feb 24th,'03..and New York.. what a treasure!! there is more written under, what I am calling, the oldest safety catch I have ever seen!! It looks to be another Pat. date..maybe for that safety catch?..SO COOL!! and it WORKS!! It has a retractor (works great).. chain that attaches to your magnifier and I do believe that this is the original magnifier on here.The pictures make it look scratched but it is not...looks great!! Works great!! It has a monogram on the front looks like a 'W'...
