The "C" clasp has been replaces at some point with a swivel lock, most likely in the 20's based on the type of swivel used. The design is quite detailed and has inlaid gemstones to create the pattern. This brooch measures 1-3/4" across by 1-1/2" tall. It is a handmade treasure!

The fob was made to be engraved with initials, but was not. The detail on all the findings is truly beautiful and elegant in design. Chain is 11" long. This was a memorial piece in most cases, sometimes it was given as a love token. The weaving of the hair is remarkably complex!

Inside the shank is the 9k mark. The opal stone is rich with colors. There is a tiny chip in the edge of the stone, however my jeweler tells me it is secure. Opals should not be worn when washing with detergents, as they can leach the color out of this delicate stone. This is a handmade treasure!
