Antique Limoges Game Bird Plaque, hand decorated and signed by listed French art studio porcelain artist: "A.Broussillon" . Listed in some current Limoges books as "Bronssillon"
Early morning sunrise in autumn, two proud male Mallards are just about to alight on the cool waters below as dawn breaks above them.
The large, open wing span shows off the vibrant teals, blues and magentas of their hand decorated feathers. These males are more than happy to display the banding around their necks to any nearby females, while calling out to announce their arrival.
The overall effect is one of gracefulness, as the mallards come in for a landing, as well as excitement, as the day begins in a blaze of autumn colors.
Warm autumn tones of , sunrise yellow, burnt umber, warm amber and earthy browns and golds.
The emerald and teal plumage of this pair has been captured by listed French Limoges Master Artist "A.Broussillon" and preserved forever on this large 11 1/2" gold rococo gilt charger with factory drilled holes for hanging.
This large charger is in good condition with a couple of scratches as shown in the pictures which could easily be restored should you chose to do so.
The heavily gilded French Rococo edge is in excellent condition with barely any wear.
Based in New York, George Borgfeldt operated an importing company with his own art studios in Paris, France and Germany. Only high end, expert, richly decorated plaques and plates carry the "Coronet" Limoges mark.
Proudly displays the George Borgfeldt (Coronet) Mark 1, over glaze in blue circa 1906-1920.
