Fabulous, large, french antique Limoges game bird plaque or charger, hand decorated and signed by well known listed artist:"Broussillon" (also spelled "A. Bronssillon" by some current Limoges reference books).

Beautiful, plump partridge in flight, warm autumn tones, magnificent artist brush strokes and detailing.

The artists' use of depth and shadows is abundantly evident when viewing this plate from a distance as the fat partridge literally swoops right out at you.

Dawn is just beginning to break as this gorgeous partridge sets off on his journey, quietly searching for a place of refuge as the sun begins to shine. The sky overhead is hand painted in warm autumn orange, soft peach and creamy yellow.

The ground below is a detailed and finely blended combination of hand painted, lush, green grasses in forest and moss tones.

This partridge has just swept past a couple of tall trees which can be seen on the right hand side of this charger.

The charger measures 11 1/2" " in diameter and is in beautiful display condition.

Factory drilled holes for hanging.

Upon very close inspection: one very shallow, tiny, area of wear can be seen just above the partridges' tail, on the tree trunk. This does not in any way at all detract and will only be noticed if you are looking for it and know specifically where to locate it. Extremely minor and only mentioned for complete accuracy.

It is pierced for hanging and is in very good to excellent condition: free of chips, cracks and restoration.
