This is a very rare find; rarer still because this is a mold variation; being more squat and blown out than the more easily found taller version of this mold # 502.
A hand painted mixed outline floral outline transfer with daisies in white, purple and butter cream yellow.
Breathtaking blue background is enhanced by dainty pink flowers sprinkled throughout.
Raised white enamel highlights outline the petals on the flowers, giving a third dimension to this truly gorgeous work of art.
The purple violets around the lower part of the tea pot are a true artists attention to the detail that is demanded of RS Prussia items.
Raised gold scrolls frame the floral decor and there are gold stenciled flowers around the rim of the lid.
Both sides of this teapot are decorated.
The handle is elaborate and double, a molded flower stem is the finial. Molded flower petals make up the scalloped rim.
This mold first debuted in the G. Sommers & Co. (a major importer of RS Prussia) catalog in 1901.
You will be lucky to ever see another teapot like this one in your lifetime, it is that rare!
Teapot stands 5 3/4" tall and measures 7 1/4" from the elaborate double handle to the perfect spout.
In excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, hairlines and completely without any restoration.
The gold is very nearly 100% intact.
This teapot is as close to mint as possible and will be the heart of any true RS Prussia collector anywhere in the world. If you want a rare item, you're looking at it! I guarantee that you will not find another teapot made by RS Prussia exactly like this one, in this condition and in these colors. I am so positive that I'm putting my reputation on it.
Even the noted "scarce" RS Prussia items will be easier to find than will a teapot like this one.
I guarantee it.
