Hallmarked Sterling Teaspoon And Sugar Nips Set

Here is a wonderful example off sterling silver sugar nips and tea spoons in a presentation box. These sets were usually given as engagement or anniversary presents during and after Victorian times. This one is of the highest quality, although this is a matched set, each of the spoons are hallmarked, Sheffield dating to 1906. The nips are also Sheffield but show they were made in 1907, probably several of the pieces being made the late part of 1906 and into 1907. All the pieces flare, and have floral and leaf design. The detailing on this set is truly lovely. There are six spoons with sugar nips and all are in excellent condition. The spoons measure 4.75 inches and the nips are 4.5 inches. The inside of the box has royal blue satin and velvet lining in very good condition, stamped with the shop name of A. Rushworth &Co Ltd, Bradford and Huddersfield. The box measures 8 x 5.5 inches and shows some wear, but no serious damage. A lovely gift to be sure.
