American Brilliant Period Crystal Cut Glass Mayonnaise Bowl

This is a lovely American Brilliant Period (1875-1915) crystal cut glass mayonnaise bowl featuring deep mitre cuts of fans & hobstars as well as a scalloped sawtooth rim. It was done on a very heavy blank and has a very pretty ring when tapped. I fell in love with this beautiful piece, in spite of its little spots of light damage. It would still be a stunning display piece, for when turned in the right direction, the damage cannot be seen. There are a couple of chips on the base of the bowl; one measuring 1/2" in length & width, with the other measuring 1/2" in length & 1/8" in width. Both chips are of the flat type of chip and do not interfere with the piece standing solid (or flush) with a surface. Of the 44 points that make the sawtooth rim, we found 9 to have very small nicks or flakes, but nothing that is immediately noticeable. I found them while going over the piece with my magnifying glass. None of the teeth are missing, but merely slightly damaged. As I said before, it still makes a most stunning display piece. However, we feel that we have adjusted the price according to the light damage mentioned.

It measures 2-3/4" in height, 6-1/8" in diameter, as well as the blank measuring 3/8" thick.
