I am so pleased to be able to offer this exquisite cut glass vase from the American Brilliant Period (1875-1915). This vase is from the estate of a leading advertising executive who lived in the Missouri Ozarks town of Arcadia, MO. The unusual shape of the vase is what intrigued me & ultimately what prompted me to acquire this piece. The bottom has the thickest glass, giving it a paperweight base for stability. It was cut on a very thick, heavy blank and the clarity of the glass is excellent. The mitre cuts are deep & precise, making the vase quite a stunning sight when viewed in any kind of light. When very lightly tapped it has a lovely, long, high-pitched ring to it.

It measures 10" in height, 6" diameter at the top, and 4-3/4" diameter at the base. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, meaning that although not in mint condition, it only has one very tiny interior bump. That means that the bump is within the glass & cannot be felt, only seen upon closest scrutiny. In addition, there is also some surface wear to the base from use, consistent with a piece this age that has been lovingly used. Frankly, it's not always easy to find a piece of this age in such lovely condition. I still have not determined the maker or name of the pattern, but as soon I do, I will be sure to include it in this listing. This is certainly a vase that would make a definitive addition any cut glass collection.
