Beautiful & rare 19th century Victorian era Bohemian layered glass scent bottle, opaque white on ruby with exquisite wheel cut decoration, large hand painted portrait medallion and immense visual appeal! Flawed yes, this one has had some damage to the upper rim and, as a result, been cut down to what you see now. My thinking is to have it cut down further, just at the top of the clear glass ring, and find a stopper but we decided to let the buyer make that decision. The rest of the piece is as beautiful as can be! Two layers of glass, a translucent ruby under and opaque white over and all of the decoration has been achieved by wheel cuts into and through the white outer! Gilt enamel trim, an exceptional portrait in hand painted enamel (also on its own layer of glass, applied to the cologne or scent bottle). Beautiful.

Good condition. As mentioned, the top has been cut down. A bit of loss and/or wear to the gold enamel in places but no chips, cracks or other damage. See pictures for measurements.
