A miniature painting that captures the joy of 19th century country life, a man plays a guitar in a humble setting, while admired by both an old and a young woman. Amazing charm for such a small painting, and one of the most lovely old frames in ormolu-mounted burled wood. If you love miniatures and have a wall or frame dedicated as your own musuem 'wing' as I do, you'll love this one added as accent to your collection. Ivory wafer, though we did not take it out to confirm or to scan it. The ivory would be, as these were, from elephant tusk, and we purchased this painting in the USA. A fine one, almost certainly French in origin.

Very good to excellent condition, glass cover has protected the painting very well, and it and frame are each in fine condition, just as you can see from our images, both digital and scan (scan through glass).
