A portrait beautifully hand painted on the cabochon cartouche of this stunning Bohemian art glass, framed in raised 'jewel' dots of glass and further adorned in hand painted gold framework and rocailles - isn't this one just a little masterpiece! One might almost think it's been a larger piece and cut down, but there is truly no evidence of such alteration and everything about the painting and adornment affirms that this is the original shape for this low vase. Perfect for your cabinet display/grouping, or begs to be used at table, with a little low French bouquet of roses, don't you agree? (you know the look).

Very good to excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines or flaws to note. Signed on bottom with a simple XX, I suppose there's a slight possibility that this one is French rather than Bohemian, but I'm calling it as I see it. All the earmarks of MOSER, we'll stand behind the call. A museum quality piece you would not be surprised to see in the Decorative Arts museum in Prague, and based on the portrait & jewelry she's wearing, we're dating it c. 1850-80. A superb piece!
