A very pale blue/lavendar moire silk set into this fine antique frame's mat is a replacement of the very old and worn silk that was originally there, and the French dealer who did it did a very fine job of replacing it. The rest of this absolutely gorgeous old French Regency frame is all original, right down to the old backing (which could use a bronze clean-up, but we'll leave the decision to out buyer - some don't like them 'refreshed'). Definitely old, this is a maker-marked frame (see images) and has a fabulous shaped aperture that is quite unique. Bow top outer frame and lots of ormolu trim in classical wreathers, crossed torches, pillars accenting the mat. GLORIOUS! Very good condition, age considered. The only replaced part is the moire silk, and the size and shape of this beauty make it a must for your collection. Show off your favorite photos in grand style!
