Some of the most beautiful old glass you'll see, this diamond-cut and pinked top oval half bowl is elegantly raised atop the silver Victorian stylized dolphins that hold it aloft. Capture and refracting light in a most stunning manner, this small serving dish or sweet meats or caviar dish is sure to please you and your guests at table. The tiniest of nibbles on one pointed pinking of the rim, it's going to our glassmaker tomorrow to have that smoothed out again ahead of sending out to you, our buyer. Slight delay in delivery is possible, owing the glassmaker's time and schedule, so be forewarned. It might take 2 weeks from today to get it back. But we've priced it so you'll be most tempted to wait, and most pleased to acquire this fabulous mid-1800s compote. The additional mark of a swan in oval is French and is the import control mark, owing to this piece having at some point been purchased into France.

Very good to excellent condition, with only a single tiny flaw on the tip of one point on the rim, noted. Nothing else to diminish your pleasure in owning it, or it's escalating value as a fine antique. Yes, we know .800/1000 silver is not quite sterling, but we have been told ebay's bidders can't find these unless they can call it 'sterling' - it's the standard for the fine old German pieces, after all, and excellent for use and stability, owing to the slightly less than pure silver blend. Very serviceable! Elegant!
