Rosewood Victorian Marble Top Table, Oval Dining Size

Here is the finest Victorian rosewood marble top table we have had the pleasure to own. It's size, styling and carvings make it museum quality. The 1.5" thick marble is spectacular, having shades of burgundy and gold patterned colorations. Notice how the marble is framed by a wide edge of acanthus leaf carvings with a narrow carved beading below. The marble is supported by a tremendous and boldly carved curvaceous base. The carvings are deep and expertly executed. The heavy-duty casters easily glide and rotate when moving such an enormous piece. The table retains its original finish, which is in excellent condition. There appears to be an old repair on one finial, upon close inspection. There is a small star carving missing from the base (see photos). The frame is sound and tight. The marble is original and also in excellent condition. This table would command a large foyer or living room. It's size would serve a small dining room and easily seat 4 people. 30"h X 59"w X 44"d, Condition: Excellent, Circa: 1860's.
