Check out the size of this stepback cupboard. We're unsure if it's a salesman sample or a doll or child's piece of furniture. The cabinet never had hardware-there are no holes to indicate otherwise. Was this done to allow the buyer to choose different hardware styles when ordering their cabinet? The finish is original except for minor crazing on the door panels. The top has a wonderful crest/gallery along the sides and back. The finials in the front are delicately turned. There are 2 finials missing on the back. Notice the carving along the top cornice which surrounds the front and sides. The doors have recessed panels with 2 drawers below having line carvings. The base steps out with two more drawers over two more doors. The base sides, like the top, are also recessed paneled. The bottom skirt, below the doors, along the front and sides, is gently shaped and scalloped. All the brass hinges are original. The size, form and detail make this extremely unique and a treasure to own. 28"h X 16"w X 12.5"d, Condition-Excellent, Circa-1880's
